Many vacuum systems are equipped with a Meissner trap to reduce the time required to pump the system to a vacuum level suitable for the process. On larger systems, the user has had to use multiple traps or settle for less than optimal pumping performance, because of the limited pumping speed of the available cryochillers.
Telemark has recently introduced the Model 4800 cryochiller, which has a capacity of 4800 watts of heat removal – about 20% greater than units previously available. It is equipped with a 20-horsepower compressor, which combined with a well-designed cascade cooling stack and an optimal proprietary refrigerant mix, achieves a theoretical pumping speed of 400,000 liters per second (typical speed of 270,000 liters per second). It can support a 1/2” coil up to 70 meters long. Cool down time is 5 minutes or less. The Model 4800 has a microprocessor controller which provides excellent integration with the vacuum system controller.
This new product is manufactured in Telemark’s factory in Battle Ground, Washington. Delivery is typically 4-6 weeks after receipt of a customer’s order. The refrigerant mix is blended to meet EU and EPA standards and the cryochiller is CE certified. Parts and Service support is available in most industrialized countries.
